Maison L’Esther offers free
services to the people of Laval and to the population of greater Montreal.
But we reach out to other regions in the sense that some of the women we
shelter come from elsewhere in the province, and some even from outside the
  province.

We are also there for women
and children who do not need accommodation. Maison L’Esther is more than a
shelter that's safe, confidential, welcoming and free. It's also:

								- Individual
and group follow-up for women and children during and after their stay
- Help
and guidance as women plan their future (e.g. criminal and civil court, Youth
  Protection, etc.)
- The
defence of women's and children's rights
- A
  round-the-clock, 7-day-a-week telephone hotline
- Information
  and resources
- Awareness-raising,
  training and conferences
- Prevention
activities in the community, in schools, the government and individually
- A
  "Heads-up
  House" to set up
prevention activities in schools, entitled "Heads up on
  violence".
