Maison L’Esther is an independent community not-for-profit organization that seeks to combat domestic violence. The mission of our shelter is to offer safety and support to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Here, the workers believe in the potential of each woman and child. They believe in their ability to take their future in hand, regain their independence, and assert their right to be heard and respected. With this goal in mind, we accompany women towards an awareness of our personal and social realities as women.

The idea is for women and children to regain their self-confidence, self-esteem and a better life. So our work is to encourage equal relationships, awareness, and empowerment. We believe that women hold their key to their future, and are in the best position to take the decisions regarding their and their children's lives.

When women and children come to the shelter, we share their lives for a bit. They inspire us with their courage and provide our motivation to speak up for them and protect their right to freedom, peace and social justice.
